Bodvar Drotninghaug Moe (b.1951) is a composer, arranger, educator and musician. He studied composition under Olav Anton Thommessen, Bjørn Kruse, Jan Sandström and Rolf Martinson. Today Bodvar lives in Gjerdrum and works as a Professor of music/composition at Nord university.
Bodvars compositions covers a wide variety of genres, including folksongs, pop, chamber music, stage and musicals. His works has been performed all over Europe, both on stage, radio and television. Many of his works has also been commissioned by various orchestras and ensembles.
Bodvar is a member of the Norwegian Society of Composers (komponistforeningen) and NOPA (Norwegian Association of Composers). And he has received numerous scholarships and prizes, including Nordland County Cultural Award (2011) , The Northern Light Award (2010) and Rana Cultural Award (1989).
